Here you can see how the horizontal links will run in 1/32" tube. You can see how the positioning of the bell cranks is set out.
Highslide JS August 2023

The horizontal tubes are supported by thin brass rod soldered crossways on the gantry
Highslide JS The arms are now linked to the bell cranks and everything seems to work.

At the other end of the gantry, more bell cranks are needed to transfer the horizontal run to vertical

Starting to look better when in position

Adding the handrails was a very frustrating job - tinned copper wire and fine dress making pins. For the glazing on the arms, I'm trying out Deluxe Materials Glue n Glaze, it certainly does a good job of creating a clear lens. I did the boarding this way round as it seemed easier to avoid the operating wires. The boards are Plastruct sections painted with badly mixed black and brown acrylic paint.

A view from the reverse. A bit more black paint touch up is required. I'm not bothered by the odd speck on the boards as it looks like the seagulls have been at work.

Now in position on a temporary basis as I wait for the theatre indicators which are on order. You can see the fibre optics for getting the lamps to work.

I dithered about the handrails for ages and then decided to use the strips that are on the MSE fret for the verticals. Thin gauge tinned copper wire was used for the handrails. It's not exact but it gives the correct feel.
