	February 2022 A view looking down the layout from the terminus station. The sleepers are parked in the sidings waiting for the evening's journey.
	March 2022 I've now decided that I have to bite the signals bullet. I started with this Alan Gibson kit which probably makes a good kit if you aren't ham fisted like me. I'm using the combined Lamp/Bracket/Bearing for a model of an Adlake Lamp from Railway Odds and Ends which make life a lot easier. I gave up on this one as I'd thought too late about how to make it work.
	March 2022 So I went back to colour lights for the places where operating a semaphore signal would be tricky. I need to add an access ladder. The signal is a starter for the box in the rear and a distant for the box in advance. I use relays for the electrical slotting - which ensures that the signal can only show green when the lever is set in both boxes.
	March 2022 This signal controls the 2 of the exits for the terminus station. I bought some DCC concepts ground signals for this. Unfortunately they come with a long bottom tube which is supposed to go through the baseboard. For this job, I had to very, very carefully cut off the tube without slicing through the fine wires inside. It took a bit of time but I got there in the end. The shunt signal will only illuminate when it has been cleared.
	April 2022 At the other end of the layout, 2 more signals have gone in. The ground signal allows a reversing move into the carriage sidings from the branch up main (the track second from left. The signal box came form Dexters Cove. This was a superb little kit to build, 3D printed. Unfortunately, they have gone out of business which is a great shame.

	March 2023 I've been looking for a suitable hut for the carriage sidings for a while. MK Models have produced this smashing little kit which is a pleasure to build. This is based on a PW hut at Kings Heath.
	March 2023 Time to start getting the slopes grassed. Scale Model Scenery make this post and wire fencing kit. They say that you are supposed to pull the wire through the already sited posts. On a length of fencing like this, there is no chance. So I paint the post first, thread the posts onto the right length of wire and then place the posts.
	April 2023 I use longer grass on the embankments and cuttings remembering that the railway was a lot tidier in the 1950s. I tend to throw in grass from a few different packets at different times during grassing a section so it doesn't look too uniform.
